LITA, Society of Authors, has opened a special call for grant applications for Ukrainian authors in a difficult social situation fleeing from war. Within the #kolegiaLITA call, LITA offers a direct and targeted one-time financial support to Ukrainian authors who had to leave their homes and found refuge in Slovakia.
LITA has allocated a sum of 50,100 euros for this special call for grant applications from LITA fund; the International Confederation of Societies of Authors and Composers (CISAC) has contributed with 25,000 euros. LITA will distribute these funds among the authors in the form of one-time grants amounting to 300 euros.
Applications to receive this one-time grant can be sent by authors in the fields of literature, audio-visual art, theatre and fine art as well as students of programs focused on creation in these fields over 18 years of age who possess a certificate of temporary protection in Slovakia.
All details of the project can be found on LITA’s website: https://www.lita.sk/kolegialita. A description of the call and conditions of support are available in Slovak and Ukrainian.
The LITA fund has long supported cultural and educational projects but also regularly serves to help authors who suddenly find themselves in a difficult situation. In these trying times, LITA, Society of Authors, wants to use the Fund to help Ukrainian authors who had to leave their homes and found refuge in Slovakia. Like with the support of domestic authors, this call focuses on authors from artistic fields in LITA’s competence.
